Through my GDF assignment, I was able to collaborate with colleagues across many different skillsets. I not only engaged with communicators, but sustainability experts, developers and user experience researchers. As co-creation is a key pillar at the GDF, I was able to interact with colleagues from Allianz Technology, Allianz SE, AGCS and more, who helped to inform the results of my project. It was through my time at the GDF that I was able to experience the enormity of the Allianz Group for the first time.
My greatest achievement during my time at the GDF was leaving behind a marketing and communications plan in promotion of the Allianz Green App – a recently piloted sustainability app. After my departure, my colleagues at the GDF now have the content they need to engage our target audience on the awesomeness of the Green App!
Another highlight would be co-facilitating a workshop on design thinking. I had always heard of the term, but before coming to the GDF, I never knew what it meant. Together with one of the analytics experts at the GDF, we ran a half-day workshop to AGCS employees on how design thinking – putting focus on the people we create for – leads to creative, human-centered solutions. (Learn more about Design Thinking here.)
Beyond these more professional achievements, I’m also happy with all the connections I made during my time at the GDF. From lunch meetings, to a sushi-making summer outing, I was able to get to know my colleagues on a personal level. (We even pet sheep (yes, real sheep) together on the roof of the GDF building)! I’m glad I made myself open to making friendships.”
