Whilst Allianz is celebrating its 130th birthday in 2020 with We secure your Future as purpose, this year also marks 50 years of Earth Day and the chosen theme is climate action. According to the organizers, the enormous challenge but also the vast amount of opportunities for action on climate change have distinguished the issue as the most important topic for the 50th anniversary. Undoubtedly, climate change represents the biggest challenge to the future of humanity and the life-support-systems that make our world habitable.
Allianz's Contribution to countering climate change
At the end of 2020, nations will be expected to increase their national commitments to the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change. Within the scope of Earth Day 2020, citizens call for greater global ambition to tackle our crisis. We, as Allianz consider ourselves responsible to deliver our part to Secure Your Future. For Allianz, limiting global warming and countering climate change is a crucial priority. Since 2005, the Allianz Group Climate Change Strategy has focused our efforts on encouraging solutions for tomorrow's climate.

We, at Allianz Global Digital Factory - located in the Werksviertel, which for itself has a forward-looking urban energy concept - are always striving for solutions to reduce the emissions of our business operations and as a consequence attacking climate change.
Our team is aware that not only Allianz as company also we for ourselves have to deliver our part to secure our beloved planet. To do this, we have lots of possibilities like reducing our meat consumption or using public transport for commute und we want to extend the awareness in the whole Allianz Family. Therefore, we are working on something special, which has the capability to contribute to our company's goal to secure our environment.
